About UsWhen I started A-Systems in 1975 I did so because I believed that there was a place in the market for a company dedicated to producing electronic assemblies for customers who didn’t have the time, or in some cases, the expertise to develop their own electronic products. Since that time we have developed products for many companies who have little or no electronics design capability. We have also developed products for Fortune 50 electronic companies who simply had more projects than engineers. Often the larger companies have found A-Systems to be more efficient in our development cycle. We can complete the design and be in production while the larger company would be putting together a project team. We are proud of the wide variety of products we have produced. We have earned our good reputation for being competent, creative and responsive to our customer’s needs. We have delivered U/L listed power supplies to General Electric for the mobile radio market where we rarely meet the end customer. We have developed neo-natal intensive care baby monitors where we stood beside the medical doctor in charge of the instrument development and watched a tiny baby struggle for life. Our products have improved the performance of ship’s gyrocompasses at sea and Lense Grinding Machines in the local one hour optical shops. Production runs for our products have ranged from tens of thousands to single prototypes. Our competence has been proven over the years as our products continue to function well beyond their design life. For example, many of our power supplies manufactured in the 1980s now show up at Ham Swap Fests. Creativeness in designing products is one of our strengths. In 1998 a customer came to us with the need to replace a family of Integrated Circuit memories no longer in production. We developed a Surface Mount Header equivalent which included all the functions of all the different memories in that family. By simply changing a jumper we could replicate any of a dozen different memory parts. Our responsiveness is exemplified by a power supply we developed for IBM. They came to us with a need for a power supply to replace one where the original manufacturer was no longer in business. We developed a completely new power supply design to meet the specifications, took it through U/L qualification and started shipping units within 60 days of the initial order. The quality of our products has been emphasized since our beginning. From design to final Inspection we have the goal of developing products which are reliable in the field. These efforts have resulted in our being certified to ISO 9001. This global recognition of our quality system verifies our commitment to quality.
