Semiconductor Division
A-Systems, Incorporated began developing clones for obsolete Integrated Circuits in 1998 in response to a request from a customer whose products utilized many components which were beginning to become obsolete. Our first product was a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equivalent of a CMOS memory IC. The customer was pleased with this product and asked what we could be for other ICs which were becoming obsolete. We felt certain that existing companies should be able to answer this need so we began a search of these companies to determine what was available. We were surprised to learn that there was not much interest in addressing this market for obsolete ICs. As a result, we set up a team of experienced designers and suppliers to address this market. In 1999 we established A-Systems Semiconductor Division in order to better serve these customers.

A-Systems Semiconductor works closely with our OEM customers to identify and develop replacements for semiconductors which have become obsolete. We utilize custom and semi-custom integrated circuit manufacturing techniques plus programmable devices as appropriate to create form, fit and function replacements for analog, digital and memory devices which are no longer available. We also offer replacements for obsolete discrete semiconductors. Our focus is on smaller quantity needs where low non-recurring costs and short lead times are more important than unit costs. We develop an equivalent part utilizing semi-custom monolithic integrated circuit technology as well as standard cell, gate array, the various logic array technologies such as PLCC and PLDs. In some cases for large body ICs such as memory products we can develop SMT equivalents for the original IC. |

We provide custom packaging of off-the-shelf discrete and integrated circuit die when needed. We offer custom programming of PLCC, PLDs and other programmable ICs. We also offer programming of memory ICs. Our sister division, A-Systems EDM Division, develops custom SMT assemblies which provide complete functions not available in individual ICs. They also supply replacements for resistor networks. We can work with you to review your Bills of Materials for obsolete components including discrete semis, ICs, resistor networks, diode networks, and many other parts. We can offer custom screening to Military requirements. We will do complete environmental testing when required. |

Our product capability ranges from simple transistor arrays to complex digital logic. To locate a product which has already been developed enter the generic number for the part you need. If that part is available the specifications for our replacement will be presented. If no current part is available contact our design staff for information on developing a suitable replacement. We will provide you with a cost and delivery to replace your obsolete part. |
